Senator Dan Duffy, Other Leaders, Endorse Dan McConchie for State Senate in 26th District

LAKE BARRINGTON, October 6, 2015 – Senator Dan Duffy announced today that he is endorsing Dan McConchie for State Senate in the 26th District along with other legislative leaders including Senators Michael Connelly and Jim Oberweis and Representatives Tom Morrison, Barb Salvi Wheeler, Jeanne Ives, Mark Batinick and Peter Breen.

Duffy, the conservative incumbent Senator who recently announced that he would honor his pledge to serve only two terms and was not running for re-election, was first elected to office in 2008 and was overwhelmingly re-elected in 2012.

“Dan McConchie is the clear choice to be our new state senator in the 26th District,” Duffy stated. “His extensive state legislative experience, grasp of the issues facing Illinois, and lifelong conservative values make him a perfect fit for our district.”

Duffy continued, “Dan is an intelligent man of integrity and has the courage to fight the status quo. Dan will be an outspoken advocate for our district and bring his unique problem-solving ability to the fight to make Governor Rauner’s Turnaround Agenda a reality. I fully support Dan.”

In 2012, Senator Duffy was one of the only elected officials who backed David McSweeney over the establishment choice Kent Gaffney for state representative in House District 52. Duffy’s support was key in propelling McSweeney to a six-point victory in a three-way race.

Illinois’ 26th Senate District is in the northwest Chicago suburbs and includes Algonquin, Barrington, Carpentersville, Cary, Crystal Lake, Deer Park, Fox River Grove, Green Oaks, Hawthorn Woods, Island Lake, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Long Grove, Mundelein, Oakwood Hills and Vernon Hills.
